Now in its 11th year, the Forum is organized by the Democracy & Culture Foundation in association with The New York Times. It brings together global leaders as well as activists, academics and youth to debate challenges and learn about exciting experiments in democratic renewal, in sessions led by New York Times journalists. The theme this year is “Daring to Hope,” and the rich discussions and workshops will be an inspiring segue into the opening ceremony at W Costa Navarino, which will feature a conversation between Deepak Chopra and a veteran NYT journalist about the intersection of “Democracy and Well-being.” Could the pursuit of well-being actually be a boon for democracy, and create more engaged citizens?
