About This Event

This holistic 5-day mindful retreat will improve your emotional and physical well-being, strengthen your immune system, and wipe away the stress. Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. People are looking for ways to cope with challenges and complications in their lives. With stress issues on the rise especially these challenging times, people are turning to mindfulness as an antidote to struggling. There is more than one way to practice mindfulness, but the goal of any mindfulness technique is to achieve a state of alert, focused relaxation by deliberately paying attention to thoughts and sensations without judgment. This allows the mind to refocus on the present moment and not to think about the past or future. With all training studios being shut down temporarily, travelgems and KANAVA Hotels & Resorts offer you a great opportunity to practice mindfulness with famous instructors; something that would have been almost impossible otherwise.

About the meditation instructor

Martina Rando is a 500h certified Vinyasa and HathaYoga teacher, The main theme of her classes is balance between structure and fluidity, hardness and softness, movement and breath.

About the yoga instructor

Nicole Woyak is a yoga instructor and wellness advocate. She is most passionate about helping others let go of fear and the limiting beliefs holding
them back from manifesting their highest potential. Nicole’s teaching philosophy is based on finding freedom inside the body by cultivating balance, strength, and flexibility. Her practices focus on understanding how we store tension in the body and learning how to release it, creating openness and aligning the body to ignite the process of transformation.

About the mindful travel expert

Niki Smirni is a global explorer, traveled in more than 50 countries, entrepreneur, mentor, speaker, mindful influencer. She is the creator of Travelgems. Niki has a long track record of successful marketing stories and innovative projects in the development of major international brands. Her motto is:`` Think with your HEART, Do with your MIND now``. Inspired by Ancient Greek philosophers she loves reading, travel and innovation. The way she thinks and acts is embraced by the science of well being for herself, community and mother earth.

About the fitness instructor

Gina DiNapoli is one of New York City’s fastest-rising celebrity fitness instructors. She started teaching at Equinox, NYC’s most exclusive fitness club in 2017 and in 2018, she created her own signature kickboxing program – Jabs by Gina.

About the Executive Chef

Albeit his young age, Alex Tsiotinis has enjoyed right from the dawn of his career a spectacular run in some of the most celebrated cuisines of the world. There, he had the chance to work alongside with great gastronomic figures, like Alain Passard, Helenne Darroze, Eric Frechon and Pascal Barbot. Upon his return to Greece, he took over the restaurant Perivoli and then for 3 years he worked as the Executive Chef of Elounda Peninsula in Crete. In 2015, Alex’s signature dish “Cretan Salad in a Pot” gave him the no1 position for the Mediterranean region, in the S. Pellegrino Young Chef of the Year competition and a ticket to the final stage competition.

DAY 3: How to bring mindfulness into your travels with Niki Smirni
Experiential talk (30 minutes) Niki will explain the importance of mindfulness in our lives and especially into our travels. Based on her personal experiences as a travel expert,, she will give easy tips on how we can practice mindfulness while traveling and adopt a mindful lifestyle. DAY 4: Boost your immune system with JABS by Gina DiNapoli

DAY 5: Adopt a healthy lifestyle with Alex Tsiotinis
Mindful eating workshop (40 minutes) During this interactive workshop, Alex will explain the benefits of a balanced diet and will share tips and advice on how one can perform mindful eating at home. He will also live cook easy snacks that anyone can make. When: 9AM PDT 12PM EDT 18PM CEST 19PM EESΤ
