Finlay Wilson & Alan Lambie Retreat

Sept 11-16, 2023|6 days|Crete

About This Event

“We settle for a lot less than radiant health, but it is our birthright.”

When Zeus, the king of the gods, was born and raised on Crete, he was raised by the goat Amaltheia. When he broke off her horn, it was blessed and became the horn of plenty, the cornucopia. Peace, prosperity, and spiritual abundance are represented by the cornucopia and we want you to take this away from the retreat. Morning yoga classes will weave in classical mythology and history to create classes that will connect you with the land, carry your imagination into meditation, and settle you in comfort in your body. Take this time from your busy schedule to slow down, eat well, and rest.

Morning Yoga practices will follow specific movement themes, breath work and intent setting to support the practice. Learn to use props and modify them skillfully with the guidance of your teachers Finlay and Alan.
Restorative classes will involve slower movement, and supported poses to help slow down, unwind, and to check in with what comes up when the mind is quiet.

About the retreat leaders

Finlay Wilson is a certified Yoga teacher with a background in Classics from his time studying at St Andrews University, a Senior Yoga Alliance teacher based in Dundee, and in 2011 founded Heart Space Yoga & Bodyworks, a charity organisation that works with children and various outreach groups. He began yoga in 2007 following surgical procedures on both legs and used yoga for his rehabilitation. He has completed over 2000 hours of training with Yoga Certification Programmes along with over 1000 hours of Ashtanga and Vinyasa training. As well as his weekly classes, he also leads classes all over the world, running teacher training programmes and creating daily online content.

Yoga has been a part of Alan Lambie’s life for almost 20 years. It started as part of dance training which carried on throughout his dance career. Alan performed extensively throughout the world with contemporary dance companies and pop acts such as Kylie and Take That, and yoga was a way for him to maintain not only his physical stamina but also a way to help keep his thoughts healthy. Alan has been teaching Yoga for over eight years and dance for over 16 years. His classes are very alignment focussed, whether in Yin or Restorative classes.
